| Criteria for membership:
- Ordinary Member - any person with a recognized post-graduate degree in periodontology or its equivalent and who is registered, or entitled to be registered in division I of the Register of Dentists of the Singapore Dental Board. Ordinary Members shall be liable for subscriptions, enjoy all privileges and be eligible to hold office and vote at meetings.
- Overseas Member - for Ordinary Members who are absent from Singapore for a period of not less than one year and have informed the Society of absence in writing with a request for Overseas Member status, Overseas Member shall not be liable for subscriptions or be eligible to hold office or vote at meetings.
- Associate Member - Any person who does not qualify to be an Ordinary Member but who has an interest in and/or have significant clinical or scientific contributions towards the field of periodontology. Associate Members shall be liable for reduced subscriptions and enjoy all privileges other than that of holding office or vote at meetings.
- Life Member - For Ordinary Members of the Society who have been members of the Society for at least twenty continuous years and have attained the age of fifty-five. Life Members shall not be liable for subscriptions, enjoy all privileges and be eligible to hold office and vote at meetings.
- Honorary Member - Shall be eminent members of the periodontal profession or related science and/ or persons who have rendered distinguished service to the society. Honorary Members shall not be liable for subscriptions and enjoy all privileges other than that of holding office or vote at meetings.
- Student Member - Any person who is pursuing full-time postgraduate training in periodontology in any approved institution. Student Members shall be liable for reduced subscriptions and enjoy all privileges other than that of holding office or vote at meetings.
Only members who are above 18 years of age shall have the right to vote and hold office in the Society
